There may be a formula development fee involved per product. This fee varies based on the scope of R&D and regulatory work required to develop a given formula. Please speak with your ANR Contact about any R&D fees that may apply to your particular project.
R&D time and any associated fees include formula development, R&D lab samples for evaluation / approval purposes (with ingredient listings), and initial R&D lab stability testing (3 cycles of Freeze/Thaw; One week at 40C; One week at 50C).
R&D time and any associated fees do not include piloting, formula or finished product testing, large quantities of samples for PR purposes, certification costs, production units, or shipping.
Where possible, we develop formulas using stock raw materials. Where new, unique or customer specified ingredients are required (including fragrances), there may be upfront raw material fees (both for R&D work and production) where the MOQ requirement for a particular ingredient is more than what we need for a given order.
If you will be providing any raw materials to us (fragrance, etc.), please speak with your sales contact about sample size and documentation requirements.
We strongly recommend conducting a pilot batch of each approved formula before going to production (and in some cases, a line trial). Please speak with your ANR Contact about pilot costs for your particular project.
We strongly recommend conducting 90-day accelerated stability testing, as well as Preservative Effectiveness Testing (PET). Without 90-day stability testing, we cannot guarantee the shelf life of a given product for any period of time. Please speak with your ANR contact about testing costs for your particular project.
As of June 2015, OSHA is mandating a changeover from the MSDS format to the SDS format. Most SDS’s can be provided by ANR at no cost, however, there are formulas for example that contain alcohol, Potassium Hydroxide, DHA and DPMA that SDS’s cannot be done in house. ANR can coordinate and outsource this service for a fee. Speak with your ANR Contact about requirements for your product.
R&D lab lead times vary by product based on raw material availability, the scope of work involved with a particular formula, etc. Please speak with your ANR Contact about R&D lab sample timing on your particular project.
